LIONEL is wise beyond his years because he is beyond his years. In 1902, in the red rocks of Sedona he was turned into a vampire by William “Fangs” Gilbert. After spending a century depressed about killing innocent mortals, he moved to Hollywood where murder is more common. And the mortals are less innocent. Being perpetually 25 helped him land a role on 90210. He was the first choice for Edward in Twilight but producers passed on him because, being a vampire, he couldn’t film during the day. Lionel returned to Gilbert to search for “the one who made him.”

Stripped of her crown in 2010 for “borrowing” some sparkly jewelry, Bry Ann’s only hope for survival is the unsuspecting crew at Shape Shifters Inc. Her sly ways, vivid imagination and penchant for pilfering help the staff out of some sticky situations. Bry Ann uses her ninja shiftiness to cement her place in Gilbert, and to pick the pockets of the unsuspecting residents.

LAW is the top trainer in Gilbert and he means to keep it that way. Law hates weakness of any kind. Law loves women… of any kind. No really, all of them. He began his days in a picnic basket on the doorstep of the Desert Gateway Baptist Church. There was a note pinned to his chest that said, “Please care for my boy. Make him a great man.” Raised and nurtured by a loving black family, Law is quickly on his way to being that great man and realizing his dream of becoming a world famous rap artist and beat-boxer.

BETH is the beautiful and sarcastic gateway in to the world of Shape Shifters Inc. Beth hopes to use her quick wit to transfer from Chandler-Gilbert Community College to NYU for creative writing if she can ever get that damn scholarship. She sees everyday life at the gym as “doing her time” until she can actualize her dream of becoming the literary, female Jason Bateman. Or until a natural disaster reduces the gym to rubble. Either way as long as she gets out of there.
